Stevia Drinks Gain Ground in North America

Zevia is a natural soda free of chemicals, processed artificial sugar substitutes, flavors or colors found in regular diet soda. Zevia contains stevia, a herb native to the South and Central America rainforests used for centuries to sweeten food. Stevia is hundreds of times sweeter than sugar and has no effect on blood sugar levels. The drink has five calories or less, 20 mg of sodium, and comes in 4 flavors: Cola, Orange, Twist (lemony) and ginger. The Zevia company is based in Seattle, Washington.

Another stevia update: Coke just got permission from the FDA to start introducing stevia to their products in North America. Japan has already been using stevia in their Diet Coke due to the fact that the natural product was determined safe.
