Edible Museum Art

Obama and Lincoln Presidential Cupcakes at the Smithsonian

As a President's Day celebration, artist/baker Zilly Rosen created an art installation at the Smithstonian. The huge cupcake assembly of more than 5,000 cupcakes formed a pixelated portrait of Abraham Lincoln and Barack Obama.

Rosen planned to donate any leftover cupcakes to homeless shelters. You can listen to an interview at the link below. And be sure to also check out the video above!

Implications - Zilly Rosen capitalized on a major opportunity with this installation. Paralells have been drawn between Barack Obama and Abraham Lincoln since it seemed apparent that he would become President of the United States. Rosen deserves a lot of credit here. Not only does the cupcake assembly look fantastic, I'm sure it tasted delightful. There's nothing like eating a piece of history.
