Pre-Geneva Show Preview of the EDAG Light Car

The EDAG Light Car is set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, but Autoblog has been given a preview of this open-source automobile in advance of the show.

According to a press release, the EDAG Light Car is the first car to be made from basalt fiber, a substance that's every bit as strong and light as carbon fiber, but cheaper and recyclable. There are also organic light-emitting diodes nestled just beneath the EDAG Light Car's surface that allow the driver to customize the car's headlights, interior and tailgate.

As noted in the headline, the EDAG Light Car is an open-source automobile. The German design firm is in talks with other companies to bring this innovative dream into fruition.
