Smile Seating by Christian Vivanco

Smile! That's not hard to do when you look at the playful, whimsical seating and decorative designs of 25-year-old Mexican designer, Christian Vivanco. Christian believes, "there are no bad days", and that is apparent by the cheerful aesthetic present in all of his designs.

The "Our Little Sofa", is a particularly clever design, creating the appearance of combining the idea of indoor and outdoor altogether in one piece: look closely! The veggie chair could be a cucumber or a zucchini, or something else entirely. The names of his pieces are based on the Mayan language, such as the "Hoo" which translates to hole. The "insitu" is a really low chair and the Plus shelf is simplistic but brings a smile, while the Alux table, seems at first to be a lamp.
