Recycled Zombie Dolls

Barbie of the Undead

Norwegian freelance artist Are Sundnes is on a mission to recycle boring toys into cool ones.

One of his latest pieces is this Barbie doll he transformed into a gruesome looking zombie doll called 'Barbie of the Undead.'

The remodeling of the toy involved refashioning the skull and creating the base out of Super Sculpey, and finishing it with acrylic paint.

The result is a creepy toy that is pretty much guaranteed to give children nightmares.

Implications - Dolls and other child toys were once considered juvenile, yet when gory twists are placed on such products, they become appealing to consumers. Companies looking for interesting opportunities to create unusual products should consider hybrid commodities that blend goriness with adorable child products.
