To celebrate Walt Disney’s upcoming eco-friendly cartoon, Trilli, the designer Riccardo Giovanetti from Milan created this “Plasticamente Pavilion.” The building resembles a giant golf ball, but with convex, rather than concave divots, the structure has a unique airy quality.
The idea behind the pavilion’s physical shape and design is that the white plastic discs resemble the way plastic molecules are actually connected. The pavilion’s design allows children to literally explore the qualities of plastics and recyclables.
The pavilion was commissioned by the Italian Institute of Plastic Recycled as a touring exhibition and will be on show in several cities across Italy in the upcoming months.
