Nesting Knives

'Meeting' Cutlery

This ultra-modern set of knives designed by Mia Schmallenbach are nested in their own block. The four stainless steel knives all stack and fit perfectly inside one another and store in a sleek metal storage wedge. The set includes a paring knife, carving knife, chef's knife and filleting knife.

Schmallenbach's design has won her first place in the 'European Award for Cutlery Creation' competition, with the guidance of Deglon of France.

Implications - This essentially is an awesome, versatile idea that all companies in this industry can adapt. After all, kitchen spaces aren't getting any larger.

One concern I do have for this unique set of stackable kitchen knives, however is that fact that I probably have to remove smaller knives to get to the larger ones. What if one of them slips and cuts me?
