Industrial Parts as Home Art

Stig Recycled Furniture

Bob Campbell aka 'Stig' taught himself how to construct studly furniture from cast-off industrial parts. Stig makes his home in a region of England that was once home to heavy engineering and steel manufacturing.

Stig rejects traditional sales venues and retains tight control over his private gallery. Stig has attracted a hard-core following of his heavy-duty art furniture.

Implications - When a machine is broken there is not much that can be done since the parts are too old to act as replacements. The next best thing is to show the world that discarded parts can be reused in creative ways. As furnitures goes eco, not only is there a history and a story behind each design, there is also more of an indication that going green can be expressed artistically.
