Few things in life these days are free, but as far as I know, no one has come up with a way to charge us for wind. Mother Nature has given us this wonderful resource that we can utilize in numerous ways. Our Trend Hunters have unearthed a number of these ingenious discoveries and they are all corralled here in this cluster.

Wind turbines are mechanical devices that, through rotation, transfer kinetic energy into usable power. Windmills are obvious sources of energy, but we’ve also found some that border on sculptures of art while powering entire buildings and purifying water.

There are also wind-powered battery chargers, billboards and backyard lighting. Could cars and watches be powered by air one day? We’ve got examples here that expose the possibility.
