This Tumbling Clothes Photography Series is Surprisingly Mesmerizing

Finding beauty in the mundane, this surprisingly stunning tumbling clothes photography series proves that perspective is everything. The laundromat is probably the last place on earth you would think had anything beautiful to showcase. But photographer Yvette Meltzer was able to see the fine art potential in the simple task of cleaning your clothes.

Inspired by her fascination of laundromats in Chicago, Meltzer started documenting all her visits to various laundromats until she was able to finish her extensive tumbling clothes photography series. In the 'Revolution' series, we see mesmerizing compositions of color and texture and something as mundane as clothes being washed transformed into abstract art.

“People seem to have such a need for definition and tend to be uncomfortable with the ambiguous,” says Meltzer.
