The new thermal feature is titled 'Adaptive Thermals' and it was first announced for the Inspiron 7000 at CES. The 'Adaptive Thermal' function uses a number of algorithms that use the laptop's sensors to determine what kind of surface it is on. The laptop then changes its heat output based on this. This new thermal laptop system is also designed to make the laptop much more heat efficient when the computer is in heavy use.
