Have you ever wondered if cement had any other purpose other than to be used for buildings or sidewalks?  If you were actually to mix cement with titanium dioxide, it would have a whole new entire purpose.

Called TX Active, this reaction speeds up the natural process that breaks down smog into its component parts.  It can reduce nitric oxides in the air by almost 60% as will as help buildings maintain their cleanliness.

Enrico Borgarello, Italcementi’s head of research and development, says the product can literally “kill” pollution. (nytimes)
