Orphaned baby elephant Themba was unable to feed himself and faced certain death until Albert the Sheep provided some much needed company.

I challenge you not be be moved by this exceptional set of photographs from filmmaker, naturalist, and now full-time elephant mum, Lyndal Davies, 41.

The sheep and elephant friends now spend every hour together, snuggled up in the Shamwari Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.
