The Rick Indeo 'One Girl' Vice Shoot is Irreverent and Offbeat
Jordan Sowunmi — December 30, 2012 — Lifestyle
Rick Indeo is a Toronto-based photographer who excels at photographing the strange and slightly deranged, and his latest photo story 'One Girl, One Pizza' perfectly encapsulates his aesthetic. The shoot takes place in a non-descript apartment consisting solely of a female model, a box of pizza, a cat, some marijuana and several articles of high-fashion clothing.
My favorite part about the Rick Indeo One Girl, One Pizza story is his ability to shoot photographs that disarm the viewer by appearing to portray discomfort. The images are hazy, deliberately lo-fi and hold the aura of the kind of photographs one would take of a friend on a day they are just hanging out.
This is RIck Indeo's greatest skill. Despite expert styling and top-notch location scouting, he manages to capture the candid authenticity that many mainstream, high-fashion photographers strive for and miss.
