Make no mistake about it, Michelle Obama is taking her role as First Lady quite seriously, and setting trend after trend along the way. Her style seems to be garnering the most attention at the moment, but the focus is shifting from what Michelle Obama is wearing to how she is mothering. As her personal style is reminiscent of Jackie O, so too is her parenting style. Jackie O was notorious for raising her young children in the White House, and closely guarded her children’s privacy, attempting to offer them the semblance of a normal life. Michelle Obama is a smart lady, and it is not surprising that she is taking cues from other smart ladies on how to raise White House daughters. Instead of Camelot, our generation will experience Yes-we-canelot.  As self-described “Mommy-in-Chief,” Ms. Obama is putting parenting the girls, ages 10 and 7, atop her White House priority list, the Chicago Tribune reports. The Obamas will withdraw the girls from the elite University of Chicago Laboratory Schools and will probably look for a similar setting in Washington.
