The Porcelain Fortune Cookies is Part of a One-Time Art Installtion

What at first may look like unique sea shells are in fact Porcelain Fortune Cookies. While most people will agree that this treat isn't just about the tiny fortune stowed within, but also about the delicious aspect of it, this classy version makes up for it with their classy aesthetic.

Created by Aleksandra Pollner, a designer based in Seattle, in collaboration with design shop Object, the Porcelain Fortune Cookies were recently put on display at the New York Gift Fair. Smooth and simple, 100 Porcelain Fortune Cookies were crafted for a one-time, interactive installation. People were encouraged to break a cookie in order to read the premonition strip found within. Pollner writes, "the broken porcelain fortune cookie is just as beautiful, if not more so, than its original form. To some degree the tension is broken, resolved, once they are smashed."
