Animal Torch Relay Films

The Olympic Vermin Short is Hilarious

The many creatures of London get to have their very own mini-Olympic torch lighting ceremony in this adorable short film entitled Olympic Vermin.

The short was done by Amael Isnard and Leo Bridle. Amael is a London-based designer/animator who has had his work featured in several festivals, and Leo is a freelance director and animator also based out of London.

The two illustrators came together to create Olympic Vermin, a short film that follows a torch relay through the streets of London with a squirrel, a pigeon, a fish and a rat all carrying various mini torches like a lit cigarette, a twig and a sparkler. The video is from the perspective of these creatures and it is hard not to laugh once the rat gets into the subway and there is the awkward pause as he awaits his stop. Enjoy!
