Hours spent gathered around the water cooler catching up on the latest office gossip may become a thing of the past if happenings in the town of Hooksett, New Hampshire are any indication. When rumors of a hot office affair between the Town Administrator and a fellow employee started to circulate swift action was taken. Four female employees were shown the door for gossipping. Town council who fired the women said the women were creating an 'unfriendly environment' which was negatively impacting morale and 'interfering with the efficient performance of town business'. Whether other companies and businesses follow suit remains to be seen.
