The Croatian gourmet honey company Mediterra enlisted the considerable talents of design firm Cipmann to help devise picture perfect branding for the company's large line of honey and honey-derived products. Using only all-natural processes, Mediterra's products return food manufacturing to a simpler and more humble time. Cipmann wanted to reflect the gourmet and green attributes of the product in the branding.
Complete with burlap, classic glass mason jars and butcher's paper, the Mediterra packaging looks like it's fresh from the stalls of a bustling village market. The labels on the products are left small, so as not to detract from the market-fresh look. Cipmann also chose to keep the labels unobtrusive, so consumers could clearly see the differing hues of honey.
Looking to recapture the past to inspire a more natural approach to the future, the Mediterra packaging is simple, homey and humble.
