The latest collection from designer Arashi Yanagawa for John Lawrence Sullivan combines army-inspired shapes with feminine fabric choices. Arashi takes classically tailored menswear silhouettes and gives them a light and airy materiality. The John Lawrence Sullivan Spring 2012 menswear collection plays with androgynous styling but still retains a masculine edge.

The gender-bending collection features a variety of structured separates and outerwear including, electric-hued military coats and biker jackets,  high-waisted pleated pants, satin slim-fitting suits as well as a variety of pin-striped pieces. Designer Arashi Yanagawa mixes bright color-blocked hues with deep shades, plaids and stripes. He plays with textures and juxtaposes shiny fabrics with matte textures, fusing hard and soft materials.

This daring collection is both edgy and dapper, combining masculine dressing with a youth-inspired, streetwear flair.
