Bored and plinking around on your iPhone? You don’t mind shelling out $1 for a useless graphic for your friend’s Facebook wall, so why not spend a couple bucks to help save the world?
The iPhorest iPhone app lets you virtually plant a tree by making a donation on the spot, whenever you feel the urge to contribute.
Not only does the iPhorest applet you make green donations, but it also lets you virtually dig holes and plant digital seedlings, giving you a more ‘real’ sense of contributing to new life.
“Shake your phone to create a storm and when the sun comes your tree begins to grow,” iPhorest explains.
“Share your tree growth at any stage with others by pressing the share button to email them a picture,” they said, adding that “the app places a dot where you first launch iPhorest.”
