Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retailer and thus the world’s largest seller of game stations, wants toy manufacturers to be more green. As a result, the big players in gaming were summoned to rural Arkansas and given the instruction. Be more green in your manufacturing, shipping, and packaging. They invited a rep from the Natural Resources Defense Council to assist. Not only was packaging a major topic but water consumed, power used, and gas emitted.  * There were about 101 Million games sold in plastic cases last year - green house gas emissions equal to over 9,000 cars!
* Some of the next generation consoles can be used to play DVD or Blu-Ray media. Doing this uses more energy, a LOT more, than a stand alone DVD or Blu-Ray player.
