It’s not the gift but, the thought that counts, right? Wrong. It’s the paper that the gift is wrapped in! Edwina Rogers, the wife of Washington lobbyist Ed Rogers, wraps her gifts in sheets of US dollar bills - real currency. A sheet of 32 one dollar bills costs about $55 USD. Because it is legal tender it still must be reported as a financial gift. Where does this stop? when she uses bunched 500 euro notes as packing material? Amazingly enough, this really isn't a new way to transfer money from one to another- it is a very common method, black market, to transfer capital from one individual to another in another country. (sometimes they do paint the bills with a water soluble solution- but it is the same thing. I also bet she's getting this "wrapping paper" as a write off via her husband's lobbyist group. Manipulate industry the old fashion way, have your house staff donate... and pets.... and children...
