Although it's a welcome change to older technologies, electric cars have yet to prove themselves as a viable, worldwide solution -- Evatran's new 'Plugless Power' charging system hopes to prove that point.
Running with the aphorism "smaller is smarter," Evatran has promised an appealing alternative to out-of-the-way gas pumps and electrical plug-in stations. Why drive miles from home to fuel up when it could be done at home, and while you sleep? The Plugless Power system is no bigger than a hub cap, charges at 97% efficiency and isn't particular about finding a wireless sweetspot.
The visions of wireless electricity dreamed up by Nikola Tesla a century ago are today's reality, and only cost $2,000. Expected to fall in cost as the technology improves, Evatran's product will altogether eliminate the need for gas stations -- you won't even have to leave your garage!
