The war on single-use plastic is finally ramping up and Just Eat, an online takeaway service based in the UK, is doing its part by introducing a new line of eco-friendly sauce packets. Designed with the help of Skipping Rocks Lab, this new form of packaging is beginning a six-week trial in the UK and will be used primarily as a replacement for conventional ketchup and garlic & herb packages. The eco-friendly sauce packets will begin their initial trial at The Fat Pizza with the hopes that the packages will be used by more restaurants in the future.
According to Skipping Rocks Lab, the eco-friendly sauce packets are "100% plant-based, naturally biodegradable and decompose within six weeks." The packets are officially known as Ooho Sauce Sachets.
