Justin Kim and Jinsop Lee, a design duo that goes by the name of Uncle Oswald Is Our Hero, have created an eco-friendly speaker called the 'Dreyfuss Special' that makes use of discarded electronics.
Exhibited at CES 2012 this week, the Dreyfuss Special is a stereo speaker system made from upcycled telephone sets. It can be used for a variety of devices, including MP3 players, computers, tablets and phones. Essentially, the Dreyfuss Special is a phone handset with a hole that fits a headset chord.
In 2010, Kim and Lee's design won the Honourable Mention for the The Red Dot Design Award. Now, the pair hopes to receive funding for the Dreyfuss Special so they can turn it into a "mass-reycled reality," describes PSFK.
