Violent Advertising Edit
Amnesty International Furious at Dolce & Gabbana Ad

Digg this TrendStumble this TrendShare this TrendEmailthis TrendEmbed This TrendShare This Trend

Dolce & Gabanna has angered many people with this ad, which features a woman being overpowered by a gang of men.  It’s pretty clear why people are getting so upset.  From D&G’s perspective, they are happy that everybody is keeping an eye on their ad and will never forget the brand.

International Amnesty has asked that these ads in Italy be withdrawn, considering the ads “a praise of the violence toward the woman”.The announcement is the similar to the announcement already made by the Spanish Institute for Woman. “The right of the woman to live free of the nightmare of the violence needs all less than those images of Dolce&Gabbana”, indicated the president of Amnesty International.

Sometimes advertisers go too far... Newsworthy, but not cool.

The sad thing about this is that Dolce & Gabbana don't even have to stoop to such shock-tactics. They already have a reputation; here they're stooping low and pandering to the taboo-cool of raunch culture. Lame indeed.

In Spain the ad had to be withdrawn from every magazine or outdoor... too risky and controversial nowadays.
