Electrocuted Flowers

Robert Buelteman's Photography Makes Foliage Electrifying

Robert Buelteman knows how to make a photograph electrifying--literally. Who needs to use a camera when you can just place flowers onto film and then shock them with 80,000 volts? This may not be a traditional form of photography, but it sure is an exciting as well as beautiful one.

His art is a version of a popular 1930s technique called Kirlian Photography. Buelteman’s images show flora glowing brightly around their edges in an almost enchanted way.

Who would have thought jumper cables and flower photography would work so well together?
