The Recycled Sony Bravia Eco Television Series (CES 2009)
We’ve seen many recycling innovations but the Sony Eco Bravia VE5 series, as shown at CES 2009, is unique because the TVs themselves were made from recycled televisions.
Other eco-friendly attributes of Sony Bravia LCD televisions are that they come with a zero-watt standby switch with motion and light sensors. When a room is empty, the sensors on Bravia will turn off the television; when motion is detected, it comes back on. Of course, it can be turned on and off manually as well.
Finally, three of the six VE5 series models, Bravia KDL-52VE5, Bravia KDL-46VE5 and the KDL-40VE5 come with micro-tubular Hot Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (HCFL) which reduce power consumption by almost 40%.
In my opinion, the Sony Bravia televisions are ecotastic!
