The vintage books sold at the Handsome Books online store are quaint but beautiful. Avid readers will recognize authors like Lord Alfred Tennyson and Washington Irving, but it’s unlikely that they’ll recognize these gorgeous artsy bindings that held these classic editions together.

These stamped, decorative bindings went out of style as the modern dust jacket came into existence, so most of the tomes sold at Handsome Books were published prior to the early 20th century.
