Media strategist and former magazine editor Joe Dolce of the Dot Gay Alliance has announced his intent to apply for a .GAY domain in 2010 with the ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers).

If you've been keeping tabs on these ICANN applications, you'll remember Al Gore's charge for an .ECO domain for environmentally-conscious websites. The Dot Gay (.GAY) domain, according to Joe Dolce, would "provide a reliable and ethical source of funding for LGBT civil rights."
