Bird-Inspired Lighting

Japan's Yukio Hashimoto Designs the 'Moonbird' Table Lamp

Yamagiwa, a lighting design manufacturing and distribution company, presented a lamp called 'Moonbird' by Japanese designer Yukio Hashimoto in Milan earlier this year.

The form is reminiscent of a lone crane. Individual pieces can be stained or painted to compliment a variety of decor.

Yukio Hashimoto carved the individual prototype lamps from wood. "I designed this lamp with the image of a bird perched silently under the moonlight in mind," Hashimoto said.
