The Dave Hakkens 'Windoil' is an oil pressing machine that is powered by wind.
The presser allows the user to create homemade oils from walnuts, hazelnuts and linseeds, or whatever can be found locally. According to Hakkens' website, the designer loves good food which he deems, "food which is made in the right way with good ingredients," yet it is very time and energy-consuming to create homemade food. In order to help shorten this time he created the Windoil.
After gathering an array of nuts and seeds that are placed in the machine, they are then pressed down as the metal fins rotate. The end result smashes the nuts and extracts their oils collecting them in a glass bottle.
