Unless you live on another planet, we are all aware about the popularity of viewing videos on the internet. Promotional book video ads have joined YouTube’s popular mixes of music, movies, television and comedy. Having a website for a book and/or author is no longer enough to create a buzz. The trend lately is to have a book’s synopsis turned into a mini teaser ad as more and more self-published authors, not having a major publishing house behind them to market their book, try to find new ways to get their potential reader’s attention. The video shows a teaser for the children’s book “Rita and Whatsit” by Jean-Philippe Arrou-Vignod and illustrations by Olivier Tallec. Expect much more of this type of bookvertising in the years to come.
