The Stream Pro Water Heater is Modeled on a Cellphone

While it is a great challenge to think up a technical and aesthetic design unique to a particular function, the Stream Pro Water Heater marks a very different approach to the creative process. Given the task of producing a household appliance within the form of a Nokia Vertu flip phone, Andrey Vostrikov had to exercise a different sort of inventiveness.

In fact, the assignment was to develop the mechanism so that it would simply embody the "style" of its handset inspiration, but the designer chose to further limit himself to a replicated appearance. As a result, the device looks notably unlike its own kind, and rather expertly emulates the image of a mobile phone. The appropriate input and output connections are concealed on the base of the sleek and compact Stream Pro Water Heater, but the digital analogue clock on the face is an unusual feature for such an appliance.
