Personally, I hope this idea never catches on, despite certain claims that longer swimming attire is more hygienic. Perhaps I'm a bit traditional in the sense that I prefer the less compressed outfit.

An unfortunate side effect of this trend, could be the eventual inclusion of the colloquial terms "moose knuckle" and "camel toe" into multilingual dictionaries.... Yes, I know what you're thinking--that should be the least of our worries.

On a positive note, this could be a good situational conversation starter, for those who choose to sport the speedo.
