Self-Destructing DVDs

DVD-D Germany Ltd.

"Your mission... should you choose to accept it, is to watch this movie. It will self-destruct in 48 hours." The company, DVD-D Germany Ltd., has produced a media that may offer an alternative to movie rental businesses, Netflix and Blockbuster. Already being sold in France and Italy, the DVD-D offers typical DVD-quality video and audio but, possesses the unique quality of deleting it's contents once the cardboard sleeve is opened. Wasteful but, convenient. Reminds me of when nonreturnable, plastic bottles replaced glass soda bottles.
