Illinois-based artist Rick Forton can do more with a pencil than many paparazzi can do with a camera when it comes to hyper-realistic depictions of celebrities and the iconic characters they play.
Breaking Bad’s Walter White stares stoically at the viewer from behind crack glasses against a mug-shot backdrop in one picture. In another, the Joker from the Bat Man Franchise looks off to the side with an expression so menacing and bemused it could only be conveyed by a comic book villain—or rather, Heath Ledger playing a comic book villain.
The series covers a wide range of characters over an almost forty year time-span. From Indiana Jones to Jack Sparrow, Forton demonstrates an impressive talent for figurative drawing.
