Turbine-Powered Vehicles

The Rick Cavallaro 'Wind Car' is Faster Than the Speed of Wind

After carrying out an experimental test on May 16th, 2010, the Rick Cavallaro 'Wind Car' has proven itself to run faster than the wind. At top speeds, the vehicle was quicker than the wind by 2.86 times.

Google and Joby Energy funded the car, which was developed in conjunction with the San Jose State University aerodynamics department. The speedy vehicle consists of a 17-feet tall propeller attached to an aerodynamic foam chassis. Wind energy is used as an external power source to run the car.
