Lantmannen's 'Restdejting' Dating Service Uses Leftovers to Pair Up People

Most dating services pair up people through things like common interests and location, but Swedish farmer’s cooperative Lantmännen has created the ‘Restdejting’ dating service, a tool that matches up couples based on the leftovers in their fridges.

The Restdejting dating service, however, has as its primary goal to help the environment. By pairing up people who don’t want to throw away their leftovers but instead share it, Lantmännen is hoping to reduce the amount of waste in Sweden. As its site points out, currently one-fifth of all food in Sweden gets thrown away.

To get started finding your perfect food match, you just have to enter up to five ingredients that you have in your kitchen on the Restdejting dating service page. Your list of ingredients/leftovers gets published onto Facebook for other Restdejting singles to see, says Wired. Alternatively, you can try the speed dating option, which lets you input the ingredients you’re looking for and the size of dinner you plan to have (for example, a meal for two).

For sassy singles in Sweden who need to know that their potential future partner has the same food tastes, the Restdejting dating service is the perfect tool.
