Anatomically-Correct Crafts

Plush Femur Shows the Softer Side of Broken Bones

I hate this saying, but some people do believe that when life throws you a lemon, you should make lemonade. This is indeed the case for Becky Stern and her plush femur. Strange, yet creative.

Having damaged her knee, this textile artist used pictures from inside her knee that were taken during surgery to make an anatomically-correct version of her own femur.

Surprisingly cuddly, it is made from fuzzy polyester fur and fleece. Her other anatomical projects include an embroidered MRI slice.
