Necco Wafers Go All-Natural While Losing Green

NECCO Wafers, an iconic American sweet is the first major candy brand to go all-natural. Colors will now come from natural beet juice, purple cabbage, cocoa powder and turmeric. Flavors will be all-natural too. The newly naturalized candies will be phased into retail stores before and after Halloween.

The one sad spot in this natural remake is the loss of green. Green is too difficult to replicate using natural ingredients, so it was dropped from the candy line. This will be a disappointment to all of those brides who so wanted to include lime-flavored green NECCO wafers in their weddings.
