It’s amazing the power that costume makeup can have in a photoshoot, particularly those found in Marco Bolognesi’s portfolio. The portraits, which would probably have been appreciated without the cosmetics due to the photographer’s obvious talent, of women decked out in stylized cultural garb are stunning.

Born in Bologna and based in London, Marco Bolognesi is not only a photographer, but also a filmmaker, illustrator and installation artist.
