Exclamatory Stoplights

Isiklarius Traffic Lights Convey the Importance of Signals

The sad fact is that many motorists do not take stoplights seriously, but ISBAK and the city of Istanbul now have a potential new system called Isiklarius Traffic Lights.

Art. Lebedev Studio wished to commence this concept from scratch, but in the end they opted to create a set of signals that are easily understood by drives and walkers based on a language similar to current infrastructure. These devices will incorporate the conventional red, green and yellow lights stacked one atop the other, but the overall shape and the aesthetic treatment will be much different.

The form of the vertical screens will taper at the bottom and take the appearance of a text exclamation mark. Beautifully crafted with wood veneers and traditional Turkish ornamentation, the modular Isiklarius Traffic Lights can also be used as pedestrian crossing signals.
