JK Keller Creates Moving iPhone Oil Paintings

JK Keller (Jonathan Keller Keller) is an artist who has started an interesting art series called iPhone Oil Paintings. These creations take the oil that remains on one’s phone after using it and creates abstract designs from that oil.

The series is comprised of a series of GIFS that you can view on his Tumblr account. Each oil painting utilizes the reflective surface of the iPhone screen and light source that creates a somewhat moving image.

The funny thing about JK Keller’s iPhone oil paintings is that many people have done this before. The finger prints and lines we make just from using the phone can create interesting designs and patterns. JK Keller should be applauded for his creativity and innovation in this series.
