The Dazed & Confused ‘A Scanner Darkly’ editorial pays tribute to renowned fashion illustrator René Gruau. It embodies his artistic style through the transformations of the models from lively three-dimensional women to rough sketches thanks to the magic of makeup. So impressive are the cosmetic choices, courtesy of the talented makeup artist simply known as Yadim, that at times they successfully fool people into thinking the beauties are actual drawings.
Shot by photographer Daniel Jackson, the Dazed & Confused A Scanner Darkly editorial is set to appear in the June 2012 issue of the magazine. Styled by Karen Langley, models Ava Smith, Codie Young, and Madison Headrick showcase the designs from such labels as Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Céline. Their wild hair was created by Yannick D’Is.
