Blockbuster Movie Bill Concepts

Midnight Marauders Creates Dark Knight Rises Posters

Australian graphic design student Nick Smith, who goes by the pseudonym Midnight Marauders, is impressing the public with his concepts for Batman: The Dark Knight Rises posters. At only 22-years-old, Smith is making work that rivals those who are actually paid to make blockbuster movie posters.

One of the cool things about the Internet is that it has allowed anyone to compete with big brands in sharing their design ideas for things that range from movie posters to tech designs. Smith’s designs capture the realness of Nolan’s Batman series and its seriousness by creating concepts that remind us of a deep and thoughtful novel transformed into a poster.

Midnight Marauders also did a set of movie poster concepts for Prometheus, and we hope that he will continue to show us his ideas for our favorite summer blockbusters.

Emphasis on Realness and Seriousness in Poster Design
Midnight Marauders' Dark Knight Rises poster concepts reflect a trend towards poster designs that capture the realness and seriousness of movies, creating a disruptive opportunity for designers to produce posters that stand out from the traditional, more whimsical designs.
