Primly Modernist Armors
The Damien Ravn Spring 2013 Collection Depicts Medieval Inspiration

By: Alexandra Serrano (Star) Dec 28, 12

The Damien Ravn Spring 2013 collection aims to outfit a modern woman in futuristic armor-like garments.

Ravn was inspired by the Austrian book ‘Masterpieces of Arms and Armor.’ He interprets these medieval creations by subtly adding detailing such as metal, structure and high-tech fabric to reference the past. Thus, the collection boasts a cohesive warrior-like theme that does not stray from the realm of polished chic.

Damien Ravn Spring 2013 infuses classical references with ultra-modern textile of today. The hi-tech fabrics that compose each piece come from the designer’s work with Liebaert; a Belgian elastic fibers manufacturer. More specifically, some use “3D spacer neoprene,” a fabric that is made from breathable Lycra and polyester. With garment creations that seamlessly combine the past and future, Damien Ravn creates styles that are fit for a modern warrior.
