One of the most basic foundations of expression is the use of light and shadow, but just because this is a foundation art skill does not mean that it's easy to master. Chris Fraser's art looks simple, but the simple veneer of his work masks the expert precision that is needed to create these alluring pieces.
To create his work, Fraser focuses on a specific point from which light pours out across a space to create the intended product. The amount of work that goes into tinkering with this point of origin is staggering. The exhibit is reminiscent of science fiction films where there was an alien on the other side of an illuminated door. Chris Fraser is currently teaching at Sierra College in California.
