Old-School Apple Layouts

Ben Vessey Goes Back to 1984 with Retro Mac OS Designs

Instead of making ultra sleek and futuristic designs for the Mac OS laptops, Ben Vessey does the opposite and equips modern technology with a retro interface.

Vessey is an Amsterdam-based art director and conceptual designer who has a liking for the design concepts of computer layouts from the 80s. He has created an old-school design that doesn't use fancy shadow effects or gradients but rather minimal designs that goes back roughly 25 years. Vessey takes modern icons and embellishes it with the styles from the Mac OS '84.

Ben Vessey replicates the original Mac OS '84 wallpaper, which consist of a flat background with a black and white pixelated appeal. There's no money involved here as users can download this retro interface with a simple click on a Facebook 'Like' or Tweet.
